We’re the owners of Mi Casa Su Casa, a small events venue located in Montgomery, TX.

When we aren’t working an event, you can find us two-stepping to Texas Country Music, visiting hole-in-the-wall restaurants, or sitting on our front porch watching our kids run around in the field.

Meet the Owners

We built a house, and a venue, and grew our family all at the same time. Which one do you think was the hardest?

  • Owner | Chaos Coordinator

    Sylvia runs all venue operations while simultaneously embracing being a full-time Mama in her “preschool room-mom era.” She’s a dreamer, a creative, and a genuine, warm friend to all.

    Fun Facts:

    -Martha Stewart is her idol

    -You will never see her without chipped nail polish

    -She loves all things fresh flowers (gardening, the scent, arrangements, etc.)

  • Owner | Firefighter (literally and figuratively)

    Ben works as Sylvia’s venue operation’s assistant. When Ben is not on shift serving his community as a full-time firefighter, he is figuratively “putting out fires” at the venue and home with no overtime payment. Ben is loyal, determined, and full of salty wit (that is guaranteed to make you laugh).

    Fun Facts:

    -BBQ is his love language

    -You can always catch him outdoors

    -His secret guilty pleasure is trash reality TV shows

Our Story.

  • Sylvia was trying to plan a shower for her best friend in 2019, but she couldn’t find the perfect space to host family and friends. She had an “aha” moment and pitched a dream business to Ben. Ben, who usually errs on the side of caution to Sylvia’s dreamer mentality, also saw the perfect opportunity to build a family business. The McDonalds often welcome friends and family into their personal home for all of life’s celebrations, so they knew right away they wanted this venue to be an extension of their own home, and “Mi Casa Su Casa” was born.

  • The McDonalds purchased the land in 2020 and knew it was the perfect spot for both their forever home and their venue. Construction on the venue began in March 2021 while simultaneously building their dream home and welcoming their second baby into the world. It was quite the year! Ben did most of the construction on his own and many hours of blood, sweat, tears, and endless prayers were poured into the venue.

  • Mi Casa Su Casa hosted its first official event in March of 2022. We view every event as an opportunity to learn, grow, and find new ways to connect with the amazing people in our community.

  • The McDonalds share this extension of their home with the public in hopes that life’s special moments can fill this space with warmth, joy, love, and happy memories.
